SESSIONS

Let's Explore Therapies offers one to one counselling sessions to Adults and Young People aged 16 plus. 

Counselling is a talking therapy whereby together with the qualified therapist you can explore and work through what is preventing you from living your happiest and most authentic life.

Each counselling session provides an opportunity for open dialogue where you can be sure you will be listened to and receive empathic, non-judgemental understanding. 

All sessions are a therapeutic hour (50 minutes) in length and delivered either face to face or online in a safe, comfortable, and confidential environment.

Lets Explore Therapies can help with many difficulties such as:

 Anxiety, Depression, Managing Anger, Stress, Trauma, Neuro-diversity, Bereavement and Loss, Family, Work or Relationship Difficulties and Bullying.

Sessions are available on a short- term basis (for example 6-10 weeks) or longer term if required. 

As a qualified Psychotherapist and an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), you can be sure you are in safe hands. I will always follow the BACP Ethical Framework and work within evidence based practice .

GESTALT THERAPY

Gestalt Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment.

Together we will explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. For instance, if you're feeling anxious, we'll explore how that anxiety shows up in your body, what thoughts are running through your mind, how it affects your actions, and its connections to your past experiences. 

Gaining new awareness will empower you to make conscious choices, freeing you to find new ways of being and move towards positive change.

 This therapeutic approach uses dialogue and experiential techniques to help you gain insight into how your past experiences are affecting you right now . The types of experiential techniques that might be offered include:

Body Scanning: A mindful exploration of sensations within the body, helping you notice where and how emotions are physically stored.

Empty Chair or Two-Chair Exercise: A technique for dialoguing with different parts of yourself or with imagined others, providing fresh perspectives and releasing unresolved emotions.

Using Objects: Engaging with symbolic items to access emotions or memories that may be difficult to articulate.

Timelines: Mapping out life events to gain insight into how your past circumstances shape present emotions and actions.

Each experiential technique is only done with your full consent and is completely led by you. It allows you to explore thoughts or feelings that may previously have been hidden. 

As you deepen your awareness through Gestalt therapy you'll find yourself realigning, accepting, and  truly valuing your unique  and authentic self.

 

 TRANSPERSONAL
THERAPY

Transpersonal therapy is an approach that integrates spiritual and transcendent aspects of human experience and aims to help individuals wanting to connect with a deeper sense of meaning, purpose, and self-identity. By exploring the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected parts of a whole, Transpersonal therapy seeks to help individuals achieve a greater understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

Transpersonal therapy is based on the belief that everyone has a natural drive for personal growth and that true well-being comes from a sense of connection to something bigger than oneself, whether that’s nature, the universe , spiritual, religious, or a higher power.

This therapeutic approach  incorporates  techniques to aid clients to explore their inner world and connect with something beyond the self, promoting healing, growth and a long lasting resilience. Techniques offered include:

Meditation and Mindfulness Practices: To cultivate presence and self-awareness.

Visualisation and Guided Imagery: Helping clients connect with symbolic imagery that may hold personal or spiritual significance.

Breathwork: Focused breathing techniques to release stored emotions and support physical and emotional relaxation.

Dreamwork: Exploring dreams to uncover subconscious insights or connect with spiritual symbolism.

Exploration of Spiritual Practices or Philosophies: Discussing personal beliefs and spiritual experiences as they relate to personal growth.

MINDFUL YOGA
PRACTICES

Yoga  is a powerful and transformative practice that can help you achieve balance between your body and mind. By integrating physical postures called Asanas with breathing exercises and Meditation, yoga fosters harmony within yourself. This ancient practice is not only a path to physical well-being but also a wonderful tool for self-discovery and personal resolution.

Yoga is an inclusive practice meaning it is for everybody regardless of your physical fitness, age or ability. Contrary to popular belief, you do NOT need to be flexible to practice Yoga Asana. 

By practicing yoga regularly, you can significantly boost your self-esteem and confidence. 

Yoga sessions are held on a one to one basis at our bright welcoming therapy space in Park Gate,  Southampton and are tailored to your individual needs.

Small group Yoga sessions and workshops are held locally on an ad-hoc basis. Price  varies depending on the type of session.

SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

Spiritual support can be a crucial component of holistic care, providing a wide range of benefits that help clients cope with various life challenges.

Spirituality often helps individuals find meaning and purpose in difficult situations, which can be essential for coping with illness, loss, or major life changes. 

Spiritual dialogue often touches on deep, existential questions about life, death, purpose, and the nature of the universe. By connecting with something larger than ourselves, whether it’s a higher power, nature, or the universe, spiritual support can enhance resilience in the face of adversity.

However, engaging in spiritual dialogue can sometimes be challenging due to the various taboos and sensitivities associated with discussing spirituality, religion, and personal beliefs. You may fear being judged or misunderstood if your beliefs differ from those around you or the broader society in general.

My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can openly share your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Here, you are free to explore your spirituality in a way that feels right for you, without fear of judgment or pressure. 

Spiritual support can be provided as a separate journey or as part of your counselling, psychotherapy, or yoga sessions. However you wish to explore your beliefs and whether you’re seeking comfort, understanding, or simply a place to be heard, I am here to support you on your journey.
